A performance appraisal is a formal assessment of an employee’s performance. It is a way to help communicate with an employee about their job performance.
It also helps the organisation to ensure that they are meeting state and national requirements for accreditation.

Feedback on performance allows both staff and management to keep track of how they are going.
Ongoing evaluation ensures that all are satisfied with the staff member’s performance.
Completed documents are confidential and are kept in the Human Resources department.
